Cubs Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)

The Cubs are in a whole heap of trouble on the road.

Their 5-3 loss at Detroit on Wednesday night was their third in three games on the current 10-game trip.

The Cubs have a home record of 21-13, but they’re just 13-21 on the road. In the loss to the Tigers, the Cubs had 11 hits and seven walks, but they were a woeful 1-for-15 with runners in scoring position, and they left 13 runners on base.

That was similar to Tuesday night’s 5-4 defeat. In that game, the Cubs left only six on base, but they were 0-for-8 with men in scoring position.

Derrek Lee and Ryan Theriot continue to hit, but the Cubs need some production from center fielder Kosuke Fukudome and right fielder Milton Bradley.
